well i was well and truly conned,holograms, flashing heat up light that is clear when off red when on,has ghd proffesional styler with ceramic technology wrote on them,so i looked into fakes found what to look for,mine seemed legit,another ebayer emails me and many others (bless her) and tells me to ring ghd with my code7c773 wv8q6 xe1eq so i ring them and guess what?? that code has been used many times before,they are fakes!!! if you are going to buy from ebay the only thing u can really do is ask the seller for the code so you can call ghd and get them verified (although they shouldnt be able to give you a code as boxes are sealed,think the older ones have codes on the boxes though) ,i left the seller i bought mine from a positive because i was totally convinced they were the real deal!! im still waiting for my refund and shes waiting for trading standards!!
