My highest bidder retracted his bid and all the remaining bids disappeared!

Can anyone help or advise? My highest bidder retracted his bid and all of the bids on my item disappeared! Now the bidding has restarted and is way below where it was when the highest bidder retracted. This seem so to be a glich in ebay's system but they are not responding to my emails. Does anyone have any suggestions? My listing ends in one day. Shall I cancel it? This is very unfair.
